Anonymous bomb threats disrupt air travel in multiple French airports – AeroTime

In a collection of alarming incidents, a number of French airports, together with Nantes (NTE), Lille (LIL), Bordeaux (BOD), Montpellier (MPL), and Beauvais (BVA), have been briefly closed on October 18 and 19, 2023, as a result of nameless bomb threats.  

The safety alerts have been triggered when authorities acquired ominous warnings, by telephone and e-mail, about potential bomb assaults. These threats have created chaos in numerous passengers’ journey plans and precipitated air visitors disruptions. 

In complete, 14 French airports have been focused, and at the least eight airports initiated evacuations in response to the perceived hazard. In these airports, terminals and entry factors have been closed whereas minesweepers performed thorough searches, halting air visitors.  

Notably, the plane of French President Emmanuel Macron, en path to attend the funeral of Dominique Bernard, a trainer lately killed in a terrorist assault in Arras, was among the many grounded flights. 

That is the second day in a row that main French airports have been affected by safety incidents, inflicting in depth delays. 

“These little buffoons having enjoyable with these threats […], they are going to be discovered, they are going to be punished,” the French Minister of Justice, Éric Dupond-Moretti, warned. 

“Organizing false alarms is harmful and unacceptable,” mentioned Clément Beaune, the French Minister of Transport. “They’re closely punished: as much as 2 years in jail and a superb of €30,000.”
